About
Widely known as the Queen consort of Norway, a title she assumed in January 1991 following the death of King Olav V, and as the wife of King Harald V of Norway. She became Norway's first Queen consort in 52 years.
Before Fame
She studied accounting, social science, and fashion design at the École Professionnelle des Jeunes Filles in Switzerland. She subsequently earned her bachelor's degree in French, English, and art history from the University of Oslo.
Trivia
She received the prestigious Golden Olympic Order in 1994 for her contributions to the Olympic movement. She has served as a Rear Admiral in the Royal Norwegian Navy.
Family Life
She married her husband, King Harald, in 1968. Her children are Haakon Crown Prince of Norway and Princess Märtha Louise.
