Irish haute couture hat designer, who has gained fame for designing for British royalty, as well as celebrities. He has been based in London for his career, and was described by Vogue magazine as "perhaps the greatest living milliner." His designs include hats for royal occasions, including the fascinator or "pretzel hat." His Instagram, philiptreacy, has accumulated over 400,000 followers. 

Before Fame

In 1989, he was discovered and mentored by fashion editor Isabella Blow, who wore his designs at important fashion events and helped him break into some of the main fashion houses, particularly Chanel and Givenchy. 

Trivia

In 2000, he became the first milliner (hat designer) in eighty years to be invited to exhibit at the Paris haute couture fashion shows. He has won British Accessory Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards five times and has received public honors in both Britain and Ireland. His designs have been displayed at the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. 

Family Life

He was born in Ahascragh, Galway, Ireland, and received his Bachelor's at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, and his Master's at the Royal College of Art London. He married Stefan Bartlett in 2017.

He is known to have designed hats for celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Sarah Jessica Parker, as well as numerous members of British royalty, such as Princess Beatrice in 2011.
