Creator of famous little blue monsters, The Smurfs. At the Angouleme International Comics Festival in 1984, he was presented with the Youth Prize (9-12 years) Award.

Before Fame

He took his name, Peyo, early on in his career because of his English cousin's mispronunciation of Pierrot.

Trivia

In the film adaptation of The Smurfs in 2011, he was written in, claiming to be researching the myths of the little blue creatures.
