Lead singer and guitarist for the seminal 1980's indie rock band The Replacements. His band, known for classic albums like Let it Be and Pleased to Meet Me, is considered one of the most influential American indie rock bands of their time.

Before Fame

He worked as a janitor for U.S. Senator David Durenberger during the 70's.

Trivia

As a solo artist, he provided songs for the soundtrack to and composed the score for Cameron Crowe's 1992 film Singles.

Family Life

He married Zuzu Petals guitarist Laurie Lindeen. They have a son named Johnny together. The couple divorced in 2014.
