Renowned twentieth-century American choreographer and founder of the acclaimed Paul Taylor Dance Company. His more than fifty-year career resulted in great innovation in modern dance; he was particularly known for his classical music settings of contemporary choreography. 

Before Fame

After briefly studying visual art at Syracuse University, he transferred to the dance program at the famed Juilliard School.

Trivia

A groundbreaking choreographer, he was once dubbed the "Naughty Boy of Dance." His final dance project was released in 2015 and titled Death and the Damsel.

He was raised in Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C.
