Professional defenceman that played in the AHL, IHL and NHL for ten years. He was drafted by the New York Rangers during the 1983 NHL Draft. Shortly after retiring in 1997, he began his professional coaching career as an assisstant. 

Before Fame

He is a graduate of the Athol Murray College of Notre Dame High School in Saskatchewan, Canada. He then began playing hockey at Lake Superior State University. 

Trivia

He received his first career coaching job with his alma mater Lake Superior State. He played in over 150 games during his collegiate career at Lake Superior State. He later took on a job coaching for the Calgary Flames. Throughout the course of his playing career, he also was a part of teams in both Colorado and Minnesota.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Winnipeg, Canada.
