Professional pitcher who joined the Los Angeles Angels in 2019. He has also pitched for the Mexico national baseball team during the 2023 World Baseball Classic. He was first drafted by the Houston Astros in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft.
Before Fame
He played baseball and football while attending Mission Viejo High School. In his senior year, he signed his National Letter of Intent to play for Vanderbilt University, later switching to the University of Southern California.
Trivia
He was promoted to the major leagues in 2019 where he played his first game against the Cincinnati Reds. In August of 2022 he threw a shutout at Comerica park, becoming the first Angels player in six seasons to throw a Maddux.
Family Life
His parents were Jorge and Robin, Jorge originally being from Mexico City. He gave his mother the baseball from his first MLB hit in June of 2021.
