Former attacking midfielder and winger who played soccer professionally for 16 years before eventually retiring in 2008. During his professional career, he also played for the Ghanaian men's national team. Shortly after retiring, he then began his official coaching career in 2010.
Before Fame
Prior to his professional career, he played for the VfL 93 Hamburg youth squad. He later signed his first professional club contract with Bramfelder SV in 1992.
Trivia
While playing for Borussia Dortmund, he helped his team win the 2002 Bundesliga title. By doing so, he helped Dortmund win their 3rd Bundesliga title in club history.
