Ukrainian chef, social media influencer, and food writer known for her hit cookbook Mamushka: Recipes From Ukraine And Beyond and other cookbooks. She is also known for her regular contributions to food and cooking websites and magazines, and her television appearances on the British cooking shows Saturday Kitchen and Sunday Brunch. 

Before Fame

She lived in Ukraine until she was 12 and then lived in Cyprus where she attended high school. She moved to the UK after graduating high school to attend college at the University of Warwick, where studied Italian language and International Relations. She then pursued a career in journalism after completing a Master's degree in 2008. She quit in 2008 to follow her dream of becoming a chef. She started her career as a chef in 2010 after completing a course at Leith's School of Food and Wine. 

Trivia

She also speaks Russian, English, Italian and some Ukrainian. She won The Observer Rising Star in Food Award in 2015 and was the winner of Fortnum & Mason's Debut Food Book Award in 2016. She and her Russian chef friend Alissa Timoshkina established the #CookForUkraine social media trend to help raise money to support Ukraine after a war broke out between Ukraine and Russia in 2022. 

Family Life

She was born and raised in Kakhovka, Ukraine until at the age of twelve when her family moved to Cyprus. Her father was an entrepreneur and her mother was a hotel manager. She has a brother. She has three sons.
