Before Fame
He played high school basketball at Tigard High School in Oregon. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and played for the Army Black Knights during the 1991-1992 season. He then transferred to Montana State University and played for the Bobcats from 1993 to 1996. He began a professional basketball career after graduation by playing overseas in Belgium, Japan, and Lebanon. He retired from professional basketball in 2000. He began working as a regional field representative for the NBA in 2002. He was selected to be the general manager and president of basketball operations for the Dallas Mavericks in 2021.
