Nerys Hughes

About

Perhaps most well known for her portrayal of Sandra in the popular British comedy series The Liver Birds, she is also notable for her recurring role as Megan Roberts in the 1980s series The District Nurse.

Before Fame

After completing her acting training at Rose Bruford College, she made her television debut in a 1963 episode of Dixon of Dock Green.

Trivia

The band Half Man Half Biscuit recorded the track "I Hate Nerys Hughes (From The Heart)" for its Back in the D.H.S.S. album.

Family Life

She spent her early days in Rhyl, Wales, and later relocated to England.

She appeared with Walter Pidgeon in the 1941 television series How Green Was My Valley.
