Professional first baseman and third baseman who was originally selected by the Cincinnati Reds as a third-round pick in the 2007 Major League Draft. He later played for the Chicago White Sox and Washington Nationals during his baseball career in the States. He then began playing baseball professionally in Japan for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars.

While playing for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars during the 2018 Nippon Professional Baseball League season, he hit 41 home runs, which led all players. He eventually hit his 150th career home run in Japan on May 17, 2023, which is the fourth most homers hit by a non-Japanese player in league history.
