Before Fame
He studied in his youth to become a barber. Later, he attended law school in Zagreb.

He served in the Austro-Hungarian Army from 1899 until 1902.
Family Life
He was born and raised in Odzak, Bosnia. He died of tuberculosis at the age of thirty-seven.
