Before Fame
In 1971, he graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in English. Several years later, he performed with and choreographed for the Paris Opera Ballet.
Trivia
He worked as a professional photographer as well as a dancer and choreographer, exhibiting his photographic work in Milan, Rome, Montreal, and London.
Family Life
He grew up on a Vermont farm.
Associated With
In 1985, for the Ballet de Nancy, he choreographed Pulcinella, a piece by Igor Stravinsky.
