Monique van de Ven

About

Initially famous for her role as Olga Stapels in the Oscar-nominated film Turkish Delight, this Dutch screen actress later played two roles in the Academy Award-winning film The Assault. As a director, she worked on the 2008 movie Zomerhitte.

Before Fame

She grew up in Zeeland, North Brabant, Netherlands. In addition to Turkish Delight, her early film credits include Dakota and Katie Tippel.

Trivia

She played the title role in the 1979 movie A Woman Like Eve.

Family Life

During the 1970s and 1980s, she was married to director and cinematographer Jan de Bont. She later married writer and fellow actor Edwin de Vries.
