Egyptian leading lady who won a 2003 Best Actress Academy Award for her role in Sleepless Nights. She also gained recognition for her roles in the films Halim and Mafia.

Before Fame

She was discovered at age 16 in had her first role in the 1993 film Khadema Walakin.

Trivia

As a stage actress, she has appeared in productions of Belaraby el famish (Eloquent Arabic), Ya Mesafer Wahdak (Traveling Alone) and Afroto (Genie).

Family Life

She married actor Ahmed Helmy, who coincidentally shares her birthday, in 2002. She and Ahmed have a daughter named Lily.
