A member of the famous Von Erich wrestling family, he was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009; and named Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Rookie of the Year in 1984. In the 2023 film The Iron Claw, he was portrayed by Stanley Simons.
