Professional soccer player best known for playing as a midfielder for AEK Athens in the Greek Super League. He previously played for professional clubs within the German Bundesliga league including Eintracht Frankfurt and TSG Hoffenheim, as well as the Super League Greece club Panathinaikos FC. He has also played for the Serbia national team at its youth and senior levels, including the team's 2015 win in the FIFA U-20 World Cup.  

Before Fame

He initially started his amateur career playing for the youth academy of Leotar before he transferred to Vojvodina. He went on to help Vojvodina win the 2013-14 Serbian Cup after having made his senior career debut only a few months prior. He was named as the team's captain in 2015. 

Trivia

In 2015, he was awarded Bosnia and Herzegovina's Medal of Merit. In September 2023, he helped AEK Athens win its first victory on English land since 1978 when he scored the game-winning goal in a Europa League match against Brighton & Hove Albion FC. 

Family Life

He is the son of former OFK Bečej 1918 soccer player, Vladimir Gaćinović. His family is originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
