Criminal wrongfully charged in the 1985 bombing murders of Joe, Angela, and Columbus Blount in a Hilltop Mobile Home Park in Lake Worth, Texas. He had his case overturned in October 2009 after it was revealed that the prosecution had withheld 14 pieces of evidence.
Before Fame
He was in jail awaiting a hearing for a burglary in 1993 when his cell mate Charles "Jack" Ferris told the authorities that he confessed to the bombing. It was later revealed that the two of them had made up the story to try to get out of prison.
Trivia
He spent ten years on death row. In the lead-up to his execution, he tried to sell tickets to it in order to raise money for an appeal or to leave something to his family.
Family Life
He was born in Cottonwood, California. He moved to Tarrant, Texas after quitting school in the tenth grade. His ex-wife testified against him in court. He died in an automobile accident a little over a month after being let off of death row.
Associated With
The Attorney General of Texas that overturned his case was future-governor Greg Abbott.
