Reality television star known for participating in OWN's reality series Houston Beauty about Franklin Beauty School, where she was getting her cosmetology license. She was only the third transgender woman ever to receive a recurring storyline on a major television network.

Before Fame

She had been living on her own since the age of 13 and relied heavily on escorting to pay her bills. She had tried three times to receive her cosmetology license before rejoining Franklin Beauty School during the time of Houston Beauty.

Trivia

She struggled during her time at Franklin as the director of the school Glenda "Ms. J" Johnson would only refer to her under her former name Ryan and wouldn't let her use the women's bathroom. There is an episode in which she confront's Ms.J.

Family Life

She had to take another break from Franklin after the show ended to take care of an elderly relative.

She was inspired seeing women like Laverne Cox and Isis King on television and also wanted to be an inspiration for other women going through the trans experience.
