Rose to fame as a member of the American R&B girl group Brownstone known for the 1995 album From the Bottom Up and the 1997 album Still Climbing. The group is perhaps best remembered for the 1994 hit "If You Love Me."
Before Fame
Alongside Nichole "Nicci" Gilbert and Monica "Mimi" Doby, she formed Brownstone in Los Angeles. The trio met while attending auditions around the city. Less than a year later, they were signed to Michael Jackson's MJJ label.
Trivia
In 1995, Brownstone earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rhythm & Blues Vocal Performance for their single "If You Love Me."
Family Life
Her husband, Carsten "Soulshock" Schack, was a music producer. Together they had a son named Nicolaj Hojer. She tragically died in February 2015 after falling onto broken glass. Her full name is Charmayne Maxena Maxwell.
