About

Professional chef, author, and creative consultant most revered for being the founder of The Fidel Gastro's Street Food Company. He is also widely recognized for being the host of the Canadian television series Rebel Without a Kitchen and author of the best-selling cookbooks, "Street Food Diaries" and "Brunch Life." He is also the creator of Alchemy Grills, a line of simultaneous live-fire grills and smokers, and an operational partner with the Ascari Hospitality Group.

Before Fame

After graduating from Humber University with a degree in advertising, he briefly worked in a marketing agency before realizing it was not for him and resigning. He came up with the idea for Fidel Gastro's but was unable to procure a bank loan to open a restaurant, and instead started out by cooking at culinary events and within the Toronto underground food scene before beginning to operate his famous food trucks, Priscilla and Lisa-Marie.

In 2015, he received a "Best Host in a Variety, Lifestyle, Reality/Competition, or Talk Program or Series" nomination from the Canadian Screen Awards for hosting Rebel Without a Kitchen. 

Family Life

He originally learned about cooking from his Italian grandparents. His partner, Kyla Zanardi, is a food photographer and co-owner of Fidel Gastro's. 

Associated With

The name of his street food company is based on the name of former Cuban president Fidel Castro. His food trucks were named after Priscilla Presley and Lisa Marie Presley
