He was born in Toyohashi, Aichi and made his debut with an appearance on an episode of the television series, Zatoichi.

He also sings and released the hit song, Matsuken Samba II in 2004.

He was married to Mao Daichi from 1990-2004 and to Yuri Matsumoto from 2005-2010.
