Former stage, television, and film actress, and media personality known primarily for appearing as Jeanette "Mum" Brooks in the 1970s-80s television series Prisoner and as Dee Morrellin in the Australian soap opera Sons and Daughters. During World War II, she was recognized as being one of the best English actresses of the time.

She began her professional theatre career in 1934 while living in England. She made her first television appearance in 1954.
Trivia
She became one of the first female radio announcers to work at ABC in Australian history. She was honored the Forces sweetheart award for her radio efforts during WWII.
