About

Blues and ragtime finger-picking guitarist and singer. She is one of only a few women in the world who play this kind of guitar style. She has performed at folk festivals including Merlefest, Kerrville, King Biscuit, A Prairie Home Companion, and the Vancouver Folk Festival.  Her albums include 2014's When My Bluebird Sings, 2011's Misery Loves Company, and 2001's Ladyfingers. 

Before Fame

At five, she started playing piano by ear. In the early 1970s, she was inspired to pursue a career in music after attending a Yank Rachell concert.

Trivia

In 2000 and 2003, she placed in the top three at the National Finger Style Guitar Championship. She has been part of the Blues in the Schools program. She developed multiple instructional DVDs and taught music workshops.

Family Life

She grew up in a musical family.  Her parents and siblings were supportive of her music career.
