Before Fame
He fell into the world of comics at the age of four when his brother Bobby took him to buy some while he was visiting his brother at university. While he took to the medium quickly, his parents didn't consider it a viable career and he instead studied politics and economics at Glasgow University for some time.
Trivia
In 2004, he launched Millarworld, a publisher responsible for creator-owned works such as Kick-Ass, War Heroes, and The Unfunnies.
Family Life
The youngest of six siblings, he has four older brothers and one older sister. His mother died when he was fourteen at the age of sixty-four and a year later, his father died at the age of sixty-five. He and ex-wife Gill have one daughter.

Both of the film adaptations of his comic books Kick-Ass and Kingsman: The Secret Service were directed by Matthew Vaughn.
