Retired defender that played soccer professionally for just over 15 years. Primarily, he played in England and the United States during his professional club career. Upon retiring, he began his professional coaching career in 1988 with the Oxford United Football Club.

He first began playing soccer as a young child. He typically played for his school and his youth club team.
