Mark Felton

About

Historian and author known for being an expert on the Second World War and the Cold War.  He has written extensively on Japanese war crimes, POW camps, Nazi war criminals, the Holocaust, famous escapes, Adolf Hitler, and other Nazi leaders. He has published books including 2016's Castle of the Eagles: Escape from Mussolini's Colditz and 2019's Operation Swallow: American Soldiers' Remarkable Escape From Berga Concentration Camp. He has earned more than 2.2 million followers on his Mark Felton Productions YouTube channel.

He attended the University of Essex and Anglia Polytechnic University.

Trivia

He has appeared in television documentaries on The History Channel, Netflix, and National Geographic. In 2022, he announced that he had been elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He was also elected to become a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Family Life

He and his wife have a son.

Associated With

After a request from then-Prime Minister David Cameron, he assisted the British Consulate in Shanghai in the rediscovery of the graves of four British soldiers killed by the Japanese in 1937.
