Marco Odermatt

About

Swiss World Cup alpine ski racer and 2022 Winter Olympic gold medalist in the giant slalom competition. He has competed in two Junior World and three World Championships, including the Chuenisbärgli ski course in the Swiss mountain village of Abelboden, which he also won in 2022. 

Before Fame

He earned the bronze medal at the 2016 Junior World Championships in Sochi, Russia. This permitted him to make his World Cup debut just days later at the season finals in St. Moritz. 

Trivia

He won the combined, downhill, super-G, giant slalom, and team events at the 2018 Junior World Championships for an unrivaled total of five Gold Medals. He has a strong fanbase with over 400,000 followers to his marcoodermatt Instagram account, to which he posts photos of special moments from his skiing career.

Family Life

He is the son of Priska and Walti Odermatt. He has a sister named Alina.

He has competed against numerous professional skiers throughout his career, such as Alexis Pinturault in the 2019 World Cup, and Žan Kranjec in the 2022 Winter Olympics.
