Before Fame
She always found singing to be a source of comfort but never had the desire to sing publicly. It wasn't until adulthood that she re-devoted her life to her faith and began to use her vocal talents as a form of worship.
Trivia
She began to preach what she calls "responsible worship" in 2015, a concept that encourages people to share or publicize their worship instead of withholding it in privacy. The idea gave rise to the yearly Responsible Worship clinics that she has held since 2018, which often feature notable special guests such as gospel singer Enrique Holmes and regularly attract attendees from all over the world.
Family Life
She grew up surrounded by music, as both of her parents were active members in an R&B group. She is the daughter of Reverend W.S. Curtis and mother Darlene Curtis. She is the fourth of seven children.

She has been publicly praised by R&B singer and American Idol season three champion Fantasia Barrino.
