About

Gospel singer and religious leader with over 210,000 followers on her marandacurtis Instagram account and 62 million views on her YouTube channel. She has been the winner of Broadcast Music, Inc.'s Trailblazers of Gospel Music Award, and has been nominated for numerous Stellar Music Awards and Dove Music Awards. She released her premiere single, "Don't Take Your Love Away," in 2012, and her debut EP, The Maranda Experience, Vol. 1, debuted at #1 on Billboard's gospel chart upon its release in 2017.

Before Fame

She always found singing to be a source of comfort but never had the desire to sing publicly. It wasn't until adulthood that she re-devoted her life to her faith and began to use her vocal talents as a form of worship.

Trivia

She began to preach what she calls "responsible worship" in 2015, a concept that encourages people to share or publicize their worship instead of withholding it in privacy. The idea gave rise to the yearly Responsible Worship clinics that she has held since 2018, which often feature notable special guests such as gospel singer Enrique Holmes and regularly attract attendees from all over the world.

Family Life

She grew up surrounded by music, as both of her parents were active members in an R&B group. She is the daughter of Reverend W.S. Curtis and mother Darlene Curtis. She is the fourth of seven children.

Associated With

She was a special guest of the Welcome to Faith City album release concert experience in October of 2017, which also included special guests such as Jekalyn CarrMelvin Crispell III, and Jermaine Dolly. In February of 2019, she was a guest on "The Gospel According to Dorinda Live" show, hosted by gospel singer Dorinda Clark-Cole. She has been publicly praised by R&B singer and American Idol season three champion Fantasia Barrino.
