American boxer known for being complicit and charged for fixing a 1983 fight at Madison Square Garden against undefeated Billy Collins Jr. The fight and the subsequent trial was the subject of the HBO documentary Assault in the Ring.

He won the 1975 and 1976 Golden Glove Open Championship and was ranked 10th in the world.
Trivia
He was found guilty of assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and conspiracy. He served two and a half years in prison. He later confessed that he knew his trainer had removed padding in the gloves and replaced it with chalk. It was also determined that a third-party bet who met with the trainer was the motivation for the fixing of the match.
Family Life
He was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico, and moved to Bronx, New York when he was nine years old.
