Before Fame
He met his partner Arthur Ferrante at The Juilliard School of Music. They became known as 'the grand twins of the twin grands.' They formed their duo in the middle of the 1940s.
Trivia
He and Ferrante had hits with recordings of such film themes as The Apartment, Exodus, and West Side Story's Tonight, earning themselves the nickname the movie theme team.
Family Life
He was married twice, first to professional New York Pops and Sutton Ensemble violinist Elaine Sutin, then to his widow Betty. He fathered three children: Richard, Susan, and David.
