She got her start winning AAAs National U15 800 meter title in 1978 and then the U17 title in 1979 and 1980.

She won bronze at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburg and the 1990 European Indoor Championships in Glasgow. Her fastest 800m time was 2:00.3 at the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics.
