Before Fame

She graduated from Pennsylvania State University's College of Communications with a bachelor's degree in telecommunications in the year 1985 and went on to work at Turner Entertainment for 15 years, becoming their executive vice president and chief operating officer. While there, she negotiated the ad deals on the reboot of Conan O'Brien's late night comedy show. She joined NBC Universal in 2011, playing a key role in the launch of the Peacock streaming service. She then joined the Ad Council in 2014, assuming the role as the chair of their board of directors from 2021 to 2022 where she partnered with the Joe Biden administration to create a COVID-19 vaccination campaign that featured Pope Francis.

Before working as the CEO of X Corp. (the company behind X, aka Twitter), she had long expressed interest in the platform. Many have claimed that under her leadership with Elon Musk, hate speech has increased on the platform, which has caused companies to suspend advertising. Although she was ranked 58th on Fortune's list of Most Powerful Women in 2023, many others have said she is struggling in her role as CEO.

Family Life

She grew up alongside her two sisters in Deer Park, New York to a working class background. She is married to Claude Madrazo and the couple have two children.
