Famous for winning the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest and for recording several hit singles with the band Chips, she is also notable for her solo singles "Why Me?" (which rose to number one on Irish charts in 1992) and "Terminal 3" (which reached number seven in 1984).
Before Fame
She became a member of Chips in the late 1960s and soon thereafter recorded the hit singles "Love Matters" (1975) and "Goodbye Goodbye" (1977).

She hosted the RTE network's game show The Lyrics Board and also assisted in the production of season one of The X Factor UK.

Born to a family with Italian and Scottish roots, she spent her youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
