NFL Hall of Famer that played running back for the Cleveland Browns and Chicago Fire during his ten year professional career. He was a four time First Team All-Pro member and a six time Pro Bowler. He won the 1964 NFL Super while playing with the Browns.
Before Fame
He is a graduate of Simon Gratz High School. Shortly after graduating, he then enrolled in Morgan State University.
Trivia
After leading the NFL in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and total points for multiple seasons, he was named to the 1960s All-Decade Team. He was later inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994. For the entirety of his NFL career, he played for the Browns, and appeared in more than 125 games with the team. His breakout season came in 1966, when he recorded 15 touchdowns.
Family Life
Growing up, he lived with his family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His brother, Harold, played professionally in the MLB for fifteen years.
