After earning degrees from the law schools of Baylor University and The George Washington University, he earned the distinction of being Texas' youngest-ever attorney and eventually became a partner at Houston's Fulbright & Jaworski law firm.

Family Life
The child of European immigrants Joseph and Marie Jaworski, natives of Poland and Austria, respectively, he spent his youth in Waco, Texas. His marriage to Jeannette Adam resulted in a son named Joseph and daughters named Joan and Claire.
