Hebrew-language poet, dramatist, children's author, translator, and recipient of the 1970 Israel Prize for Literature. A member of the Yakhdav literary group, she is known for such works as Al Haprikha and Nisim Veniflaot.
Before Fame
She learned Hebrew in school and started writing diaries in the language when she was ten years old.
Trivia
Her family lived in Lithuania; however, she was born in Konigsberg in one of the superior medical facilities that existed across the German border.
Family Life
She never married and spent most of her adult life living with her mother in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
Associated With
She translated War and Peace, a famous novel by Leo Tolstoy, into Hebrew.
