Before Fame

She began her career as an improviser and sketch comedian at the Second City, Chicago. She graduated from Northwestern with a major in creative writing in poetry. She's also taught in Chicago Public Schools.

She was nominated for a 2008 Joseph Jefferson Award for Actress in a Revue for "Campaign Supernova! Or How Many Democrats" at the Second City Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. Her short films have been featured at Slamdance, SXSW, and Tribeca Film Festivals.
