Laufey
About
Popular jazz singer-songwriter and cellist. In 2014, she competed and became a finalist in Iceland's Got Talent. In 2020, she released her debut single, "Street by Street." She released her debut EP in 2021. In 2022, she released her first full-length album titled Everything I Know About Love.
Before Fame
Her full name is Laufey Lín Jónsdóttir. She began studying classical piano and cello at the age of four, and won numerous awards and competitions growing up.
Trivia
She made her solo debut as a cellist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra at the age of 15. She earned a Presidential scholarship to the Berklee College of Music.
Family Life
She is half Icelandic and half Chinese. She has a twin sister named Junia. She was inspired to begin a career in music by her mother's work as a classical violinist, as well as her father's collection of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday albums.
