South African rapper and songwriter, known for being one of the few independent artists in the country to reach commercial success, as well as for his public beef with rapper, Aka. His Instagram, l_tido, has gained over 280,000 followers. 

Before Fame

He studied Marketing in college, quitting his post-grad job to start his rap career in 2007. He dropped his self-funded and distributed mixed tape, City of Gold, in 2009. This release pushed him into the public eye, and he won the ChannelO Music Award for Best Newcomer. In 2011, he independently released his debut album, All or Nothing. 

Trivia

His debut album, All or Nothing, features collaborations with K.O, Banky W., and Tumi Molekane. He started his interview-style podcast, L-Tido Podcast, in November 2022. 

Family Life

He was born Thato Madonsela in the Johannesburg township, Alexandra. He has a son who was born in 2011.

collabL-Tido has performed several times in the country's major cities and in many small towns,[14] and has opened for Rick Ross, The Game, Slum Village, Maino, and Usher.[15]
