He graduated from the University of Ghana with degrees in sociology and psychology. He later earned a graduate degree in public administration from Harvard University.

A highlight of his career was his 2003 Journalist of the Year Award from the Ghana Journalists Association.
Family Life
He had three children with his wife Kwansema. He died of cardiac arrest at the age of forty-one.
