He has 5 million followers. In the year 2022, audio surfaced of him expressing a preference for underage girls. A video surfaced of him in a physical altercation with a woman in 2022. In a different incident, he was sued in May 2024 for rape, sexual assault, and defamation.

Before Fame

He attended the New Brunswick Campus of Rutgers University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in biomathematics. He was also a DJ for the university's radio station but was later removed for his taste in music and social commentary. In June 2011, he and an accomplice were featured on a Rutgers University Campus Police Crime Alert flyer for stealing computers from other students. He created his first YouTube channel in October 2012 which related to his DJ work at Rutgers. Subsequent channels followed which included making fun of inept criminals, addressing gang violence in Chicago, Twitch livestreams, and hip-hop and rap culture.

Family Life

His real name is Livingston Allen and is better known as DJ Akademiks or his stage name Lil AK. He was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica. He had an absent father and one biological brother. He was largely raised by his mother and grandmother. He and his brother followed their mother to the United States in 2001.
