NFL center and athlete that was a five-time champion during his ten-year playing career. He was originally selected by the Green Bay Packers during the eighth round of the 1964 NFL draft. Shortly after retiring from his NFL career, he then began playing professionally in the World Football League.

Prior to being drafted, he played college football at the University of Wisconsin. As a junior, he won the 1962 Big Ten conference championship.
Trivia
While playing with the Green Bay Packers, he won Super Bowl I and II. In the year 1981, he was inducted into the Green Packers Hall of Fame. In his prime, he stood 6'3" tall and weighed 230 pounds. Bowman was one of the fifteen plaintiffs in Mackey v. National Football League, in which Judge Earl R. Larson declared that the Rozelle rule was a violation of antitrust laws on December 30, 1975.
