American author and broadcast journalist who is best known for her work as a correspondent for NBC News in New York City. She is also an anchor of MSNBC Live and reports for a variety of other news platforms through NBC News and affiliates. 

Before Fame

She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and graduated in 2005 with a degree in Philosophy. She began as a broadcast journalist for a variety of different networks including KTLA and The Weather Channel before she joined NBC News in 2009.

She has won several awards for her broadcast journalism including in 2017 when she received the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism. 

Family Life

She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Her mother and father were also journalists. Tur married Tony Dokoupil, a correspondent for CBS News, on October 27, 2017, in Utah. They have a son named Teddy who was born on April 13, 2019, as well as a daughter named Eloise who was born on May 13, 2021. She also has two stepchildren from Dokoupil's first marriage.
