After serving from 2007 to 2014 as State Treasurer of Nevada, this Democratic Party politician launched a campaign for Nevada Secretary of State.

Before Fame

She earned both her bachelor's degree and her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. She entered into politics after serving as Nevada's Senior Deputy Attorney General.

In 2011, she ran unsuccessfully for a Nevada seat in the United States Congress.

Family Life

She grew up in San Francisco, California, and later relocated to Reno, Nevada, where she raised daughters named Molly and Anna.
