Activist famous for his major role in the Indian independence movement, which lasted from 1857 to 1947. At the age of 15 he became the leader of the Ghadar Party, which was founded to overthrow British rule in India.
Before Fame
It was claimed hee sailed in San Francisco and planned to attend the University of Berkeley. However, there is little evidence that supports he actually studied there.
Trivia
In November of 1915, he was executed for his part in the Indian independence movement.
Family Life
His father, Mangal Singh, died when he was very young.

He and Mahatma Gandhi were both Indian activists who played a part in escaping British rule.
