Outside hitter Olympic volleyball player, coach, and broadcast announcer who represents the United States. As a player, he won three gold medals at the 1984, 1988, and 1996 Olympics. As a coach for the women's national team, he won a gold medal at the 2020 Olympics.
Before Fame
He attended UCLA and received All-American honors his entire time playing there. He received in 1981 and 1982 the NCAA Volleyball Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
Trivia
His jersey at UCLA was retired in 1993 and he was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1992. He became the only player to have won Olympic medals in both indoor and beach volleyball.
