Before Fame

After hearing someone play the saxophone in the Mysore Palace band, he picked up the instrument with the intention of mastering it.

Trivia

He was the recipient of an honorary doctorate from Bangalore University.

Family Life

He was born and raised in the city of Mangalore, where he acquired his musical tastes.
