Julie Pomagalski

About

Competitive snowboarder who competed at the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics. She died in an avalanche in Switzerland on March 23rd, 2021, at age 40. 

Before Fame

She was the granddaughter of Jean Pomagalski, founder of the Poma ski lift manufacturing company. 

Trivia

She also competed in the FIS Snowboarding World Championships in 1999 and 2003, winning a gold medal in the snowboard cross and silver in the parallel giant slalom, respectively. 

Family Life

She lived in the ski town of Meribel, where she ran a ski shop and ski school.
